As an art form, Chinese flower arrangement gained prominence early on, during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, when Buddhism spread into China, bringing its custom of offering flowers at temple altars. The exhibit will present photographs of arrangements characteristic of the various styles of the traditional art, along with historic and explanatory information.
